Tidbits

I was playing with my new camera, and decided to share a few tidbits from the kitty cove ( the place I sleep, eat, shower, blog from, etc). If you follow me on instagram you've already seen the charm bracelet I thrifted a couple of weeks ago, but I'll have you know I'm still obsessed. Sadly it's been cold here and I've scarcely been removing my jacket, so the poor bracelet hasn't seen much light thus far. I love the seventies vibe of it, and am definitely looking forward to styling it come festival season. I decided to share the little tray at the base of my earring stand. I have filled it with the little knick-knacks that I used to carry everywhere with me. These are things I always had on my at one point, they went from purse from purse and joined me on many adventures. Most are a bit dirty, as I was more of a wondering soul at this time. They all have a story behind them, & who doesn't love things with character? The quote is on an Imaginary Foundation t-shirt I have. If you like galaxy prints, I highly recommend checking them out, they incorporate galaxy prints in the most artistic way. & since I have Fridays free, I've got to say TGITH! (Hey, I'm allowed one cheese ball line per post!!)

Sweater Weather

Sweater- Vintage

I'm behind on the deadline I'd established to open my etsy shop. But I'm almost there. In fact these pictures were done specifically for the shop. There are some dangers in modeling my own inventory. You see, I tend to get attached. I love the tribal print and the over all comfort of this over sized sweater. And with the chilly weather it's rather tempting. Fortunately I do have some will power, and this sweater is going to be for sale. I love all my inventory but I'd rather share it then keep it to myself. I'll defiantly be posting in here when the shop opens, so stay tuned, and let me know what you think of this sweater!

About A Girl

 Dress- Thrifted
Earring- Papaya
Shoes- Steve Maddens from Ebay
Lipstick- MAC Red

I’m insanely in love with these shoes. The pictures don’t do them much justice, but they’re covered in silver glitter. I snagged them off ebay a couple months ago but haven’t had much chance to wear them until recently. The velour dress was thrifted, and originally a maxi but I decided to cut it into and ultra mini. It got quite a bit of wear during the holiday season. As soon as I went outside to take these pictures I instantly regretted my outfit of choice as it was frikkin cold! I’ve always lived in Washington, but the winters still seem far too cold for me. I’ve been playing around with my clothes trying to find outfits that are both warm and chic. (This was obviously not one of them.) I have to say I do miss shorts season! & if the title of this post had you curious, the overcast day brought to mind Nirvana.

Heartbeats- The Knife

 Sweater- Thrifted
Leggings- Target
Necklaces- Vintage
Bracelets- Swap Meet
Earrings- Betsey Johnson

I suppose the indian summer ended today. We've been having sunny warm days, but they've been accompanied by crisp cool mornings and evenings. Today stayed grey, gloomy, and cold, so I'm taking that as a sign that the fall weather is here, and the time has come to toss on sweaters. Love this one I picked up for 99 cents thrifting. And in the spirit of justifying my laziness, and blaming the weather, I haven't left the house today :O Oh, and regarding the name of this post. The song has been stuck in my head, and I think I've listened to it about 5 times today! <3 br="br">

ST. VINCENT de PAUL

So. I absolutely love thrifting. I had heard that at a local thiftstore, ST. VINCENT de PAUL, all apparel is 99 cents on Sundays. So I decided to check it out, and was so happy that I did. It's a smaller thrift store, and believe that most of the items are likely donated by little old ladies, which is probably why I loved it. I thought this labrador brooch that doubles as a necklace pendant was just darling.
I picked up this over sized mint sweater that I plan to wear belted with leggings. I'm a sucker for anything resembling a mermaid, and the color fit the ticket. The knit pattern reminds me a bit of fish scales, giving it bonus mermaid points. My favorite find was this light pink sweater, with a rose pattern on it. I've already worn it with velvet leggings, and am imagining all the future potential it has. Paired with high-waist shorts. Colored leggings. Colored skinnys. Pencil skirts. So much potential here. The best part of my thrifting trip? My total was only $3.24. Money in my pocket, and clothes in my wardrobe. What are some of your best thrifting finds? I'd love to see pics, so send me links if you have any.
