Sassy.

overalls, red beanie, beanie with words, ootd, style blogger, fashion blogger, faux fur, fur vest
overalls, red beanie, sassy beanie, litas,

It's kind of hard not to feel sassy when you've paired a pair of khaki overalls with heels and a faux fur vest. (Or how about "vegan fur". I think I like that better. :p) So the bright red beanie proclaiming the mood with large in-your-face lettering across the front seemed entirely necessary. So let your sassy flag fly. Or sassy beanie, that is.

Royal

(Hat-WeAreMassiv/ Top-F21/Skirt & Flannel- Thrifted/Sunnies- La Lune Vintage/ Sneakers- Aldo/ Lip color c/o B A Star)

I had this flannel in a giveaway pile, since I wasn't really digging the fit. But then I decided I wanted to jump on the flannel around the waist bandwagon. & an ill fitting flannel with good colors was perfect. I think I'll keep this flannel around awhile. On another note, I got sent this lip pencil to sample. I literally started wearing it everyday for like a week straight. I love the color; and it lasts forever. I have a discount code for readers who want to try out BA Star! You can get 50% off using the code "BBLIPS" at checkout.

Dope Krunk

(Tshirt & Bag- La Lune Vintage/Jeans- H&M/Sneakers- Target/Hat- We Are Massiv)

I love exploring new looks. Recently I've been inspired by Hip Hop and the 90's. Though my style is always changing, I have noticed one constant. My outfits frequently have a piece of my boho past, sometimes in bigger ways than others. I feel this outfit really gives of a hip-hop gypsy vibe, that I dig.

Thirst.

Jeffrey Campbell

I was going to title this post "Lusting", but since I've used that before I figured I'd head over to the thesaurus to spice things up a bit. And maybe it is just due to my love of vampire movies, but "thirst" really popped out at me. As did these Jeffrey Campbell boots when I was browsing the Nordstrom website. So I put the two together. Enjoy.

I Dress Myself

Tshirt- diy
Jacket- Nordstrom
Shorts- diy
Sunglasses- aprie
Shoes- PLNDR

Recently everyone seems to be reppin' Bart Simpson. And I'm over here in the Ralph t-shirt letting you know that, yes, I do in fact dress myself. I love the humor of this tee, and was ecstatic when I found it while searching through racks and racks of clothing at my local Goodwill. I have a thing for muscle tanks, and I knew right away that this tee would soon become one. The circle sunnies are a must. When you live in a state were sunny days are few, it's almost a crime not to wear shades when you get the chance.

In The Sky With Diamonds

Vest- Thrifted/DIY
Jacket- Nordstrom
Socks- Forever 21
Necklace- Vintage

This Lords of Liverpool tank is an absolute staple in my wardrobe. I'm actually a little surprised I haven't posted it sooner, considering I wear it all the time. I got a bit chilly while shooting this outfit (don't let that winter time sunshine fool you) & had to put on my jackets, which actually ended up adding the the look. I recently picked up this denim jacket from the thrift store & chopped the sleeves off. I have plans to add some studs soon, make it a bit edgier. Oh, and in case you're wondering I did get my bangs trimmed the day after this shoot, so I can see again! All the better to type to you with, my dear.

Valentines Day Outfits.

I put together a few outfit ideas for St. Valentines Day for anyone still stumped on what to wear. These ideas are all semi casual, but great for a laid back date or for spending the day with some girlfriends. Hell, even if you're spending it alone (but I suggest you get at least a little social for the day) you may as well look cute! I myself plan on having some anti-valentines wine & chocolates with my best friend. Crossing my fingers that the weather will permit me to wear my heart shape sunnys without looking like a fool. (Sunglasses in the rain tends to lead to odd glances and remarks, all while impairing my vision and fooling me into thinking it's dusk)

Valentines look # 3

Shorts & Blouse- Romwe
Purse- Forever 21
Necklace & Sunglasses- Urban Outfitters
Earrings- Lulu's
Wedges- Jeffrey Campbell

This look is professional and simple. The floral print of the shirt and a necklace that reads "love" subtly hint at the holiday, but all the black keeps you from looking overly themed. The blouse would look great tucked into high waisted leather shorts. If its still chilly where you live the outfit would look great with some tights underneath and a black or grey faux fur vest.

Valentines Day Outfit # 1

Bustier- Forever 21
Skirt & Bag- Romwe
Sneakers- Jeffrey Campbell
Socks- Miss KL
Sunglasses- Urban Outfitters
Hoops, Bracelet, & Ring- NastyGal

This look is super fun & flirty; great to wear to school or to a movie. This skirt would be adorable with a black bustier, body suit, or crop top. The lace socks peeking out of the shoes add to the the sweetness of this look. It would look great with a cream colored moto jacket, and a big hair bow would make a great accessory.

Valentines Look # 2

Kimono- Saltwater Gypsy
Maxi Dress, Floral Crown, Arm Cuff- Urban Outfitters
Shoes- Lulu's
Necklace- Forever 21

This look is very boho-chic. I'm obsessed with kimono's, maxis, and floral crowns at the moment so I was thrilled to stick them all in one outfit. The heart cut outs & roses this outfit feature hint at the holiday, but in what feels like a very cool way. I chose to add geometric jewelry, staying away from anything with hearts since the dress already features some. Slightly messy hair and minimal makeup would compliment this look well.

Valentines Lingerie

Lingerie- NastyGal

I couldn't very well make a Valentine's post without any lingerie. Here are my favorite sets, both from NastyGal. I absolutely love black lingerie, especially when it's lace. I should probably try and branch out, but I find black to be sexy and tasteful at the same time. I'll let you decide what to pair your lingerie with, but I hope it includes perfume. Hope you have a wonderful Valentines day!

Sweater Weather

Sweater- Vintage

I'm behind on the deadline I'd established to open my etsy shop. But I'm almost there. In fact these pictures were done specifically for the shop. There are some dangers in modeling my own inventory. You see, I tend to get attached. I love the tribal print and the over all comfort of this over sized sweater. And with the chilly weather it's rather tempting. Fortunately I do have some will power, and this sweater is going to be for sale. I love all my inventory but I'd rather share it then keep it to myself. I'll defiantly be posting in here when the shop opens, so stay tuned, and let me know what you think of this sweater!

About A Girl

 Dress- Thrifted
Earring- Papaya
Shoes- Steve Maddens from Ebay
Lipstick- MAC Red

I’m insanely in love with these shoes. The pictures don’t do them much justice, but they’re covered in silver glitter. I snagged them off ebay a couple months ago but haven’t had much chance to wear them until recently. The velour dress was thrifted, and originally a maxi but I decided to cut it into and ultra mini. It got quite a bit of wear during the holiday season. As soon as I went outside to take these pictures I instantly regretted my outfit of choice as it was frikkin cold! I’ve always lived in Washington, but the winters still seem far too cold for me. I’ve been playing around with my clothes trying to find outfits that are both warm and chic. (This was obviously not one of them.) I have to say I do miss shorts season! & if the title of this post had you curious, the overcast day brought to mind Nirvana.

Houses of the Holy

Outfit Details:
Cardigan- Grandmothers Closet
T-shirt- Target
Leggings- Love Culture

Shot this near the downtown Seattle library the other day, with the fabulous KT ENG. First time I’ve shot with her, but had a great time & hope to do it again. You can check out her blog here.

The cross leggings immediately brought to mind “Houses of the Holy” by Led Zeppelin. They give off real rock n’ roll vibe. And when channeling rock n’ roll I always think it’s best to go with the classics. & speaking of classics, the cardigan was another inheritance from my grandmother, Loretta Mae. I’ve been getting a lot of use out of this cardigan lately; it seems to be a good twist on grunge looks. Which, by the way I have fallen head over heels in love with soft grunge. So expect to see a bit more of it here on the blog.

I’ve been working on a couple gift guides that will be up later this week, so stay tuned!
