Thirst.

Jeffrey Campbell

I was going to title this post "Lusting", but since I've used that before I figured I'd head over to the thesaurus to spice things up a bit. And maybe it is just due to my love of vampire movies, but "thirst" really popped out at me. As did these Jeffrey Campbell boots when I was browsing the Nordstrom website. So I put the two together. Enjoy.

The only bummer about styling vintage pieces for my shop is I always end up wanting to keep them. Luckily the initial sadness is soothed by knowing that someone else will have as much fun styling them as I did. Not only that but they'll be able to call the piece there own, and avoid the detachment that is often felt toward clothes you know you are not going to be able to live in time and time again.

This outfit totally plays into my continued mini-obsession with the 90s. And although the song I chose with this look isn't actually from that era, it still gives off that depressive "everything sucks" vibe that the 90's seemed to dig so much.

May Wishlist

May wishlist

Here are a few things I've had my eye on lately. Now that the sun has finally arrived I'm tempted to reach for bright colors and pastels, something that I've rarely done in the past but am looking forward to playing with this spring and summer.

1. I'm obsessed with all things tie-dye this spring, and this tee UNIF expresses that "whatever" attitude of a 90's summer.
2. Quite frequently, while getting dressed, I realize how much better certain outfits would look if I swapped out basic leggings or tights for a pair of garter leggings. I like these ones from Love Culture, and the price is right.
3. Really digging kawaii nails right now. Etsy has a plethora of them, like these from ElluminationsND.
4. OMGOMGOMG Deandri! 'Nuff said.

Basic

 Tank- Pacsun
Pants- PLNDR
Shoes- Jeffrey Campbell

Ideally I'd have plenty of time to get ready and choose a creative outfit every day. Realistically I have days where I don't have that luxury for any number of reasons, however most often a result of oversleeping. While I've finally come to a point in my life where oversleeping has become more of a rarity (thanks to four consecutive alarms set on my phone), it is still nice to be able to throw on a few comfortable basics in a rush and head out the door.

On another note, being a fashion documentary junkie and all, I'm super stoked for Scatter My Ashes At Bergdorf's. I'll be seeing a screening on May 20th, so be sure to check back after that date to hear what I think of the film!

Insta-April

A few instagram highlights from April. I've decided to post the photos bigger and leave out the captions. It's more visually appealing to me; let me know what you think. xo.

Lovin' It.

So inspired by this behind the scenes video! It's styled by Sofie from The Milk Club, and I actually found this video over on her blog. Reminds me how in love with the 90's I currently am. I'm a sucker for any behind the scenes videos; but Flying Lotus playing in the background really tops it all off for me.

Feel free to send me links to fashion/bts videos you really like.

Red Velvet

Dress: La Lune

This dress is from my little online vintage shop, La Lune. I have hand picked a ton of great items, and slowly but surely they are getting uploaded into the store. Its hard to say what my favorite part of this starting this shop has been so far. I love the hunt and excitement of finding great pieces. And I really enjoy styling them and imagining all the other possible ways they could be styled. So it's probably a toss up between those two.  It's new enough that it hasn't "paid" off in the literal sense (or should I say cents), however to me the payoff is watching it grow and seeing that people are liking what they see. I chose to be simple with the styling since the main reason for these pictures is to show of the dress itself, however I think it would look super rad with combat boots, ripped up tights, and a leather jacket as well. How would you style this?
